Under the radar.
Compressed.
- 9 days in New York City- Daniel Radcliff's musical on Broadway, Alicia Keys concert, Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil, riding in a horse-drawn carriage across Central Park, American Museum of Natural History, Intrepid, sitting on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a thousand other museums, riding in a limousine, shopping on Fifth Avenue (+ Saks), Macy's, Woodbury Common, visiting Peter Giller's home in New Jersey, tour of Princeton University.
- The first week of my second semester in KYUEM - Running through the sprinklers, welcoming the new batch, never realizing how much I missed my family here. Samurai. (It's a KY secret.)
- Personal Statement queries. - Deadline approaching, not a word written, screw me. Mr Jamal as my Reference writer, A* predicted grade for Economics. Final university choices are: LSE, Oxford, Warwick, UCL & QM.
- Oxbridge processes. - Appointment with Headmaster every Thursday. Piling my mind with information pertaining to politics, economics and philosophy.
- Bangsawan preparation. - 4.30-6.00 in the evening, and 8.30-10.00 at night. Every. Single. Day. Statistics homework while cutting leaves? No problem. It's all about the bonding, bonding.
- Duke of Edinburgh expedition training. - Community service, sports, skills, expedition. Learn how to survive for 2 days in the jungle with a bunch of your closest friends. Excitement is thrilling.
- Alumni Weekend - Dozens of ex-KY family members descending upon the campus, inter-batch basketball, football and volleyball games; university talks at the GH, sharing experiences and insecurities with complete strangers save for the common bond of this college.
- Topaz Grand Meeting - the selimut game never gets old. So nice to meet some of the former proud Topazians. Touching speeches. Impressive juniors.
- Bon Odori - A few hours away from the competitive pace of this college, to indulge ourselves in sushi, sashimi, ramen, and deep drum beats, dancing with what feels like a thousand other people, sweat running down your face. My first festival, 'twas AWESOME.
- The new batch. - New faces, old faces turning up; friendships being formed, the ever-addictive condescencion to those 'juniors' (ignoring the fact that they were born in the same year, probably older than me).
- IELTS - I'll be doing my IELTS exam on the 30th of July. Yes, the day of Bangsawan. Lucky me. But I'll do anything to get block 3 as a free block. >:)
I'm, really busy guys. My next post will probably be on the last day of July, welcoming the month of Ramadhan.
AS trials are on the 12th of September.
Funny note. I was at the LSE booth talking to a few of the alumni, when this came up-
"How many Malaysians are there in LSE right now?"
"My batch? 20. 15 of which are from KY."
#fuckyeahhhhhhhh
